WASHINGTON (March 26)—WashingtonWatch.com selected North Bridge Communications, after a competitive bid, to introduce a new legislative wiki to lawmakers, lobbyists, trade associations, advocacy groups, and others involved in the legislative process.
A wiki is a Web site that enables users to create and edit content. The best-known example is Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia.
"WashingtonWatch.com is like Wikipedia for legislation," said Paul Cummins, a partner at North Bridge Communications. "This is a powerful tool that will quickly become due diligence for anyone managing a public affairs or advocacy campaign."
"People can literally define any bill pending in Congress," he continued, "and because the wiki was just introduced, it is fertile ground. People have the one-time opportunity to define an issue before their opposition."
In addition to the wiki, WashingtonWatch.com-a non-partisan Web site-also makes available the budget numbers behind legislation, includes a comments section where people can share opinions on bills, and provides an online poll where visitors can vote on an issue.
